It is happening! With great pride and enthusiasm, the Fresno Regional Foundation welcomes in A New Era in Philanthropy for the San Joaquin Valley.
Since our beginning in 1966, FRF has carefully set its course with strategic planning and long-term investments. In 2011, Fresno Regional Foundation celebrated its 45th anniversary and reached new highs in total assets, grantmaking, and community partner- ships. And, most notably, FRF launched the Fund for the San Joaquin Valley.... THE FUND.
Now the New Era provides donors with a giving opportunity to produce sustainable, high-impact results for our community. The mechanism is THE FUND. Opened with a $3 million gift from The James Irvine Foundation, it will ultimately grow to a $20 million endowed fund allowing $1,000,000 to be granted back into the community, year after year, forever.
Within the pages that follow, you will see our year-long accomplish- ments and understand why we are optimistic about the future. To our Founders, the Board Members over the years, and all the donors along the way, we thank you for your guidance and generosity.
Dan DeSantis, CEO Dewey Slater, Board Chair
In the fall of 2011, 150 guests celebrated the 45th anniversary of the Fresno Regional Foundation. Donors here from the beginning shared stories with others who have joined along the way.
The luncheon included inspirational words from David Mas Masumoto and a call to action by The James Irvine Foundation CEO, James E. Canales.
From the 10th floor of The Grand in downtown Fresno, guests were treated to string quartet music provided by the students of University High School while looking out over the skyline and agricultural landscape we call home.
