Fresno Regional Foundation to Grant $600,000

to High Impact issues in the San Joaquin Valley

Fresno, CA – The Fresno Regional Foundation (FRF) announced the opening of the 2014 High Impact Grant Cycle. FRF will award up to $600,000 to organizations who deeply understand and serve families in the San Joaquin Valley in order to have the greatest impact on children’s success during the critical years leading up to and through the 3rd grade.

Interested applicants must participate in one of the Foundation’s Grants Information Sessions:

In-person

Wednesday, July 23 from 10 to 11 a.m., or

Webinars

Thursday, July 24 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., or

Wednesday, August 6 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

To sign up for one of the information sessions, visit http://fresnoregfoundation.org/cbo/v2/programs.html.

FRF plans to award up to $600,000 in 2014 to support families and children 0-8 for success by 3rd grade across the three funding scenarios: Accelerator, Connector, and Advocacy. Grant requests range from $25,000 to $250,000 depending on the funding scenario. Interested applicants may apply for more than one funding scenario, with a separate proposal for each. Grant terms may be up to two years.

The High Impact Advisory Committee intends to make investments that will lead to the greatest impact on children’s success by 3rd grade. In order to make educated decisions, the Advisory Committee has allocated $100,000 to evaluate past, current, and future High Impact Grantees to create a framework to benchmark, measure, and track progress through our grantmaking. FRF will make evaluation results available to the High Impact Advisory Committee, stakeholders, and the general public.

These grants are part of a larger initiative called The FUND for the San Joaquin Valley. The FUND focuses charitable gifts to the most pressing issues in the Valley. In 2012, the High Impact Advisory Committee focused on helping families and children 0-8 prepare for success by 3rd grade. The FUND aims to build a $20 million endowment through community giving to continue supporting solutions for the Central Valley forever.

The Fund for the San Joaquin Valley initiative is supported by a grant from The James Irvine Foundation.
