Fresno Regional Foundation board adds three dynamic leaders

Fresno Regional Foundation announced that the board of directors is now at its full capacity of fifteen with the addition of three new directors—Dewey Slater, Joan Eaton and Jarah Euston. These recent additions represent the Foundation’s commitment to board development and belief in the value of diversity.

“The reach of Fresno Regional Foundation and our ability to fulfill our mission is positively impacted by adding Dewey, Joan and Jarah to the team,” said Dan DeSantis, chief executive officer of Fresno Regional Foundation. “Each of them brings a unique perspective and set of skills to the board that will uncover more opportunities in our area in which we can change the lives of others.”

Dewey Slater’s addition to the board continues a family tradition of service. Slater’s father was a founding member of Fresno Regional Foundation's first board of directors. “It will be great to look back and see all the good the Foundation has accomplished. The scope of support covers a broad range of areas in the region,” stated Slater.

Local businesswoman, Joan Eaton, thinks the diverse board will deepen the regional reach of the Foundation. “I now have a greater opportunity to help facilitate charitable giving in the community and live out Fresno Regional Foundation’s mission,” said Ms. Eaton whose father, Lewis Eaton, also served as a member of the Fresno Regional Foundation board of directors.

Jarah Euston, founder of FresnoFamous.com and chair of local nonprofit Creative Fresno, said, “Fresno Regional Foundation recognizes that there is a new generation of leaders in Fresno that have a strong desire and ability to move ideas into action.” Euston has a passion for youth opportunities and furthering the arts in Fresno.

“Dewey, Joan and Jarah will serve the community well as members of our board,” said DeSantis. “The people are in place to fulfill our mission and the area nonprofits will reap the benefits.”
