A medium for kindness
Thanks to the generosity of a Fresno Regional Foundation
donor, a grant of $100,000 was made to ReadFresno,
an organization whose vision is to have every child reading
at or above grade level by the end third grade. Some of the
staff and board members of the Fresno Regional Foundation

An advocate for leadership
A friend of Fresno Regional Foundation and the entire
community, David Masumoto, is making a gift to open
a field of interest fund designed to support community
education and leadership training. Since opening the
fund in September 2007, the fund has grown from

A community steward
In response to an article in the Fresno Bee about the
McLane High School Triathlon Team, a Fresno resident
and owner of a Fresno Regional Foundation donor advised fund requested we make a grant from her family fund for $3,000. This grant allowed
the team to purchase new equipment and clothing, and to
pay fees and travel expenses to compete in races in

Investing in the MET
In 2007, Fresno Regional Foundation granted $25,500 to the Fresno Philharmonic. Some of the grants were made possible through donor advised funds and some were awarded through our competitive grant application process. Promoting arts and culture
Mort Rosenstein and Dan DeSantis, Fresno Regional Foundation CEO, present $50,000 to Nancy Marquez, the longtime director of Arte Americas. The funds will support the expansion project for this iconic cultural center and art museum. Read more...
Providing opportunities
Sisterhood of Survivors is one of several start-up community projects that have asked Fresno Regional Foundation to be their fiscal agent. The Foundation accepts tax-deductible donations on behalf of the Sisterhood of Survivors and performs the due-diligence and accounting services to insure that disbursements from the group's fund are used to advance its mission. Fighting hunger
In response to an immediate need at the Community Food Bank in November 2007, Dan DeSantis hands a $10,000 check to Dana Wilkie, executive director of the Community Food Bank. Dana had previously had to cancel orders for chickens to be delivered for the Thanksgiving meals, but this gift allowed her to call the vendors and ask them to proceed with shipping the orders. This $10,000 gift was made possible by the Foundation's Fund for the Common Good. Read more...
Support for schools and students
The Sunnyside High School Photography Program was
awarded $5,000 for new photo equipment and field trip
expenses as a result of their grant application in 2007. This program inspires at-risk students to
attend school every day and envision themselves going on to
