Fresno Regional Foundation is led by a dedicated board of directors and a committed president, Daniel DeSantis, to fulfill our mission of improving the quality of life in our community through philanthropy.
Dan spent his formative years in the San Fernando Valley. He received his bachelor’s degree in education from California State University, Northridge and earned a master’s degree in administration at the University of Southern California. Learn more about Mr. DeSantis.

Lori joined Fresno Regional Foundation staff in 2006, bringing 15 years of finance, human resources and information technology experience to the Foundation. The opportunity to work closely with the nonprofit community in the Fresno region has been inspiring and incredibly rewarding for Lori. She is a transplant to Fresno from the Bay Area and now considers Fresno her home. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from California State University, Fresno. She has traveled to Italy, Japan, Ireland, Mexico, and England, and throughout the United States. She also traveled to China twice to adopt her two daughters. She deeply appreciates the resources and opportunities that come with living in the Central Valley, and she loves that Fresno provides a culturally rich and diverse home in which to raise her family.
Sharon joined Fresno Regional Foundation in 1997, bringing 18 years of nonprofit accounting experience. Sharon is instrumental in maintaining an integrated fund management system designed specifically for community foundations. She records, tracks and reports on the multitude of donor funds and accounts. A lifetime resident of Fresno, Sharon is married with six children and nine grandchildren.
In 2007, Sandra came to Fresno Regional Foundation from United Way of Fresno County. She volunteers as a court-appointed advocate through CASA and serves on the American Humanics Advisory Committee for California State University, Fresno and the Financial Education Advisory Committee, San Francisco Region. Sandra actively seeks opportunities to enhance and contribute to the community with her time, talents and resources. A Fresno native, and member of a large, traditional Mexican family, she is committed to educating, informing and engaging the Latino community to be advocates for change. Sandra received her bachelor’s degree in history from University of Oklahoma City. She and her husband Peter have three grown children and recently welcomed their first grandson, Alejandro.
Carla Jackson-Tucker joined the Fresno Regional Foundation in 2008 from United Way of Fresno County. Carla currently oversees the Air Quality Advisory Committee, Marketing Committee and shared responsibilities with the Grants Committee.
A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Carla brings a diverse background to the Foundation that includes over eight years of combined experience in the areas of public relations, marketing, media, and project/account management. She holds a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from Weber State University. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and currently serves as a Trustee on the Board of Directors of the Central California Chapter.
Carla is thrilled to join a community foundation where she can continue to be inclusive and mindful of the culturally diverse community in which we live. She and her husband Mark have two little boys. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and eating great food!
Kelvin Alfaro is the newest team member at Fresno Regional Foundation. Kelvin joins us after graduating from California State University, Fresno in May of 2008. Kelvin graduated with double major in Psychology and Sociology and an American Humanics Certification. He has a strong commitment for the not-for-profit sector and plans to use his knowledge and experience to improve the sector.
Kelvin is excited for personal and professional growth opportunities offered through Fresno Regional Foundation. He believes that the work of the Foundation is key to improving the communities and lives of the residents within the communities in which we live. Kelvin grew up in Mendota and upon entering college, moved to the city of Fresno, where he now resides.
