The Central Valley Drought Relief Fund (CVDR) was created by concerned philanthropic donors in response to the severity of the drought in many farming towns in the Central Valley. CVDR is focusing it's efforts in critical areas such as food, housing, utilities, employment and essential human services. It is anticipated that 500,000 acres of farm land will be fallowed. Unemployment rates expected to exceed 60% in Fresno County farming communities where the westside of Fresno County will be hit the hardest. In order to relieve some of this devastation, Drought Relief Centers will provide all essential emergency drought relief services in these initial cities: Firebaugh, Huron, Mendota, Orange Cove and San Joaquin.
CVDR is honored to be able to work with many organizations all coming together to offer their support for those most affected by the drought.
