Humanics@FresnoState Fund
Humanics is a certificate program offering students specialized training in administration and leadership for community benefit organizations (CBOs). The Fresno State Humanics department is teaching our future funders, philanthropists, and board members how to grant money wisely and do due diligence to ensure the best use of their resources. Through the Fund for the Common Good, Fresno Regional Foundation Board members support this effort by providing the students real dollars to meet real needs in our community. The Humanics program works with hundreds of CBOs in the region to prepare leaders for service to humanity.
In 2008, our very own Kelvin Alfaro, was part of the 36th Annual American Humanics Management Institute Seminar in Kansas City, Missouri. They were taught nonprofit management skills from local and national experts, giving them real life exposure to the challenges and hours of due diligence that comes with each grant.
